Global AF Aware Week 2024: ARISTOTELES Supports Awareness and Action for Atrial Fibrillation
- 18 November 2024
From 18 to 24 November 2024, the ARISTOTELES project joins the global effort led by the AF Association to mark Global AF Aware Week (GAFAW). This year’s theme, “Hearts Beating, Minds Meeting,” celebrates the importance of collaboration—across disciplines, communities, and borders—in tackling atrial fibrillation (AF), a common yet serious heart rhythm disorder affecting millions worldwide.
AF is a growing global health concern, significantly increasing the risk of stroke, heart failure, and other complications. Through awareness campaigns like the Global AF Aware Week, we aim to empower individuals and healthcare professionals to Detect, Protect, and Correct AF:
-
DETECT: Check your pulse regularly – it’s quick, easy, and could save your life.
-
PROTECT: Understand the importance of stroke prevention with appropriate anticoagulation therapy.
-
CORRECT: Explore treatment options that manage symptoms and reduce long-term risks.
As a Horizon Europe-funded initiative, ARISTOTELES is working to revolutionise AF care using artificial intelligence to support early detection, risk prediction, and personalized management strategies. We are committed to improving outcomes for AF patients through research, innovation, and raising awareness.
Let’s join forces this week to promote better heart health and a future where no one is left unaware of the risks of AF. To learn more click here.
