EU Commission invites input on two key public health consultations
- 25 August 2025
The European Commission is launching two open consultations to gather stakeholder input on major upcoming health initiatives:
EU Cardiovascular Health Plan – Call for Evidence
The Commission has published a Call for Evidence to collect inputs that will feed into the development of the actions of the upcoming EU Cardiovascular Health Plan. The EU cardiovascular health plan aims to help Member States reduce the number of people falling ill with cardiovascular diseases and prevent premature deaths for those with existing conditions or risk factors. The plan will support, coordinate, and complement Member States’ efforts, paying particular attention to the division of competencies between the EU and the Member States. The consultation is open to citizens, NGOs, public authorities at all levels, healthcare providers and professionals, industry, academia, research organisations, and other relevant stakeholders. Those interested can contribute with their feedback until 15 September 2025 here.
EU4Health 2026 Annual Work Programme – Targeted Consultation
DG SANTE has opened a targeted consultation on EU4Health, inviting interested stakeholders to share their views on priorities, orientations, and needs for the next EU4Health 2026 work programme. The EU4Health programme will bring a contribution to the long-term health challenges by building stronger, more resilient and more accessible health systems. Stakeholders— including national, regional, and local health authorities, patient and civil society groups, healthcare professionals, researchers, academia, expert networks, and businesses —are invited to contribute with their opinion about current and future Union health priorities and strategic orientations on key health needs to be addressed. The consultation is open until 30 September 2025 and is available at the following link.
