Building Europe’s Smart Health Future: i~HD Annual Conference 2025 in Ghent
- 07 October 2025
This December, the European Institute for Innovation through Health Data (i~HD) will hosts its Annual Conference 2025 in Ghent. The event marks i~HD’s 10th anniversary, under the theme “A Decade of Joining the Dots – Towards Bridging Data Spaces.”
Over two days, the conference will gather policymakers, researchers, clinicians, innovators, and patient advocates to explore the next frontiers of health data use, interoperability, and AI-driven healthcare transformation in Europe.
The programme will feature keynote addresses, plenary debates, and interactive sessions covering some of the most relevant topics for the ARISTOTELES community:
- The future of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and how it can enable secure, ethical, and equitable data use;
- Building trust, transparency, and accountability in the deployment of AI in health;
- Leveraging synthetic and real-world data for predictive modelling and clinical decision support;
- Improving EHR data quality and standardisation to foster safer, more connected care;
- Empowering patients to actively access and use their own health data.
The conference will feature insights from representatives of the European Parliament, European Commission, WHO Europe, OECD, and leading EU-funded initiatives such as IDERHA, OPTIMA, and xShare.
For the ARISTOTELES project, which focuses on developing responsible and explainable AI to support personalised risk prediction and integrated care for patients with atrial fibrillation and multimorbidity, this event provides a valuable opportunity to connect with peers, share perspectives, and contribute to shaping the future of health data innovation in Europe.
Alongside the scientific sessions, participants will enjoy networking opportunities and a special 10th anniversary dinner in the historic centre of Ghent.
As Europe moves closer to a trusted and interoperable health data ecosystem, the i~HD Annual Conference stands out as a must-attend forum for collaboration and inspiration.
