In preparation for the EHMC 2026 Conference, the European Health Management Association (EHMA) has launched a Call for Abstracts, inviting the submission of original work to be presented during the event. The conference will act as a platform to highlight best practices, models, and case studies, as well as to exchange innovative ideas and expertise in health management with a broad audience of academics, researchers, health managers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers from Europe and beyond. 

The conference theme is “Future-proofing health systems for a changing world: from strategy to action”, and it will be held in Barcelona from 10 to 12 June 2026. 

The call is open to researchers, practitioners, and all stakeholders involved in health management. For the general “Abstract or Short Paper” category, participants may submit up to three abstracts as primary author, co-author, or presenter. For the Karolinska Institutet Medical Management Centre (MMC) & EHMA Research Award, submissions are limited to PhD candidates wishing to present work stemming from their doctoral research. 

The purpose of the call is to gather high-quality contributions that address current and emerging challenges in health system management and to encourage discussion on how systems can become more resilient, sustainable, and equipped to navigate demographic, technological, social, and environmental transformations. The goal is to move from strategic planning to concrete action, examining how health systems can be effectively future-proofed. 

All submissions must correspond to one or more of the conference tracks and topics, as detailed in the submission guidelines.

• Policy and regulations
